ABOUT US
As a charity, MY Trust is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals and families. With roots dating back nearly 700 years, as Sir Josiah Mason Trust and Yardley Great Trust, our legacy is one of compassion, inclusivity, trust and excellence.
OUR HISTORY
MY Trust has an illustrious history, dating back to 1355. For generations, we have provided unwavering support and essential community care long before any public welfare system existed.
OUR PEOPLE
We value our hardworking, loyal staff and believe that our people make us who we are. We provide rewarding training opportunities for all of our staff and encourage them to reach their potential and make the best use of their skills and abilities.
OUR STRATEGY
Our vision is a future where all people have a great place to call home, are part of a thriving community and have opportunities to achieve their potential. Our family of charities strive to improve lives and create opportunities by providing quality homes, care, support, and education.
ABOUT MY TRUST
On 1 April 2026, two of the West Midlands’ most historic charitable organisations came together in a merger that reflects both deep roots and a forward‑looking vision. The union of Sir Josiah Mason Trust (SJMT) and the Yardley Great Trust Group bring together nearly a thousand years of charitable legacy, creating a stronger platform to meet modern social needs while safeguarding centuries of generosity.

ABOUT ALMSHOUSES
Almshouses have been an integral part of the housing provision for people ‘in need’ in the United Kingdom since the 10th century. However, today, many people still don’t know what almshouses are. Almshouses enable people (typically older people who can no longer work to earn enough to pay rent) to live in a particular geographical area.
